AM Show Critiques

I would like to thank the SVS for their kind invitation to judge at their recent CH Show held on the 1* of September 2024 at Tomlinsons Canine Centre .

I was more than pleased with my entry of 48 especially in the current worrying climate.

I want to give a very special mention to both my stewards and friends Paul Conway and Anthony Oakden. Who really looked after me so well over the whole weekend and who kept my ring running so smoothly throughout the day thank you both so much it was very much appreciated indeed

Thank you also for my lovely SVS Vase which is now sitting in pride of place in one of my display cabinets .

Having had many opportunities over the years to have judged the breed in many countries I was very happy with the overall quality of the breed in the UK. Most exhibits were of good size and correct shape good bone and substance correct wedged shaped heads and good sized ears. I found no concerns with mouths although some exhibits teeth were not clean no excuse especially in young dogs. I found a few light round eyes creeping in and some dogs were lacking in true markings. Temperaments were good with no very shy or aggressiveness in any dogs. Movement on the whole was good with the majority of dogs being sound and exhibiting no concerning defects.

I am not one for singling dogs out for redicule therefore I will not be penning extensive critque's I feel it serves no purpose other than attack an owners much loved companion. I believe I have highlighted those points within the breed that need to be observed and also positive points where I feel the breed in a good place.

1st Uitendaals Multi Ch Noriniikes Balder De Bombe (NIs) 7 years old correct wedged shaped head correct almond shaped dark eye well set ears correct scissor bite. Nice mask markings and good front Level Topline and good underline. Ex full tail and well set. Good harness markings moved out freely with reach and drive. Lovely sound temperament. Well handled . BVD. & BVIS.

2nd. Perry & Etches Ch Starvon Cryptic Spyda 7 years old another nice male with a lot to offer. Correct wedged shaped head lovely eye and nice expression good ears correct mouth and nice markings throughout. Good bone and substance level topline good rear angulation. Would prefer a better front. Moved well coming and going .

3rd Pallatinas Starvon Dark Knight At Valltineya.

1st McCardles Starvon Get The Drinks In For Me Monascreebe. 8 Months very nice puppy indeed lovely balanced body shape good size and length ex bone and substance. Ex head and eye shape would just prefer his eye a tad darker. Correct bite and good ear set. Good mask markings Ex topline and underline in good coat and condition. Lovely bone and tight feet. Moved very well for one so young. I predict a bright future for him. Very happy to award him BPD & BPIS.

2nd . Smiths & Stockbridges Ruanticx Spyro The Dragon With Valladar. 7 months nice puppy with typical head and eye good ear set . Nice expression nice front and feet good topline and well balanced good markings . Unfortunately needs more ring training . That said his new to showing owner handler did and good job. Keep practising .

1st Jones Valltineya Red Redemption 12 months very nice junior lovely wedged shaped head nice expression good ear set correct bite and lovely red pigmentation throughout. Good reach of neck and nice front level topline and good feet. Very well marked red moved very soundly well handled.

2nd Hortons Vallineya The Outlaw Litter brother to one. Well grown male masculine head would prefer a darker eye. Nice body shape good topline and nice nice harness markings . moved well.

Linneys Aescwine Bottom Dollar. Nice male masculine head good shaped dark eye nice ear set correct bite good mask markings and nice reach of neck . Ex size and substance . Good topline and underline. Moved soundly and freely .

2nd Kings Starvon Fit For a King At Forvana .Would perfer a better wedged shaped head . Good eye shape and correct bite Would prefer larger in size and better topline . Moved ok.

1ST Richards & Chappells Starvon Eez The One Of Palostras. Very nice male lovely balanced body and very good bone and size. Ex head shape and correct bite good ear set lovely expression and nice reach of neck into good shoulders . Nice front and feet. Level topline good rear angulation . moved very soundly .

1ST Sprys Westorps Wild Thing To Pepperthyme (imp swe). Nice male lovely head and dark eye correct bite and ex ear set. Very nice expression and ex mask markings . Good reach of neck level topline nice rear angulation . Good overall body shape in fit condition moved out soundly well handled.

2nd Linneys . Cecil Vom Burggener Land Mit Aescwine (imp deu) Would prefer better in head but has good eye shape and good ear set correct bite and good markings. Nice body shape and level topline good tail set and good angulation moved and handled well.

1st Uitendaals Multi Ch Noriniikes lene Miene Mutte (Nls) 5 years for me now at his best such an ex outline when standing and on the move. Shouts breed type and has the best of body shapes and .Ex head and eye correct bite. ex expression and super outgoing temperament. ex facial and body markings. In super fit condition which shows on the move as he strides out effortlessly a joy to watch. So well handled and showed out of his skin. It was a pleasure to award him the DCC & RBIS.

2nd Perry & Etches Ch Starvon Easy On The Edison Another lovely male, much to like about him indeed. Ex head and eye lovely alert expression. Good ear set and bite. Very nice pigmentation and well marked overall. Ver y nice balanced body and level topline. Moved and handled so well. Very willing to please. Was very happy to award him the Res CC.

1st Days Starvon Binit Sinit Dunit With Kirkholm 7 years in very fit condition feminine head of nice wedge shape lovely alert expression correct bite and good ear set very nice facial markings and good reach of neck well laid shoulders and good front. Correct level topline and good rear angulation. Mover soundly with reach and drive.

2nd Vitendaals Multi Ch Sharinjah Simasuu 10 years Very nice female I have awarded highly in the past. Very feminine head dark eye and nice expression ex ear set and good bite in nice fit condition ex tail set and good over all markings moved very soundly and freely .

1st Days Starvon Gives Me Goose Bumps. 8 months strong but feminine head correct bite and lovely dark eye ex ear set and good facial markings lovely balanced body shape and good top line. Ex temperament moved and showed so well. She is still very raw at the moment but for me that is the way the breed should be they are a slow maturing breed and she is at just the right stage for her age. BPB

2nd Antieuls Ruantic Final Fantasy 6 months very much a baby very nice correct wedged shaped head lovely dark eye good bite anf correct set ears. Very nice body shape would prefer a better top line on the day slightly long in hock. Very nice temperament well handled.

1st Pallatinas Valltineya Lasso Ur Dreams 13 months Red girl lovely bitch of very good quality indeed dark eye very nice expression and correct head shape good ear set she had the best front in the class very well marked for a red lovely top line and under line ex full tail well set on. mover out with reach and drive liked her a lot. Very happy indeed to award her the Res CC.

2nd Rorbachs Vallinteya Bella Starr 13 months litter sister to 1 another very nice girl much of the same remarks apply but would prefer a darker eye and stronger pasterns good level top line and well marked moved well.

3rd Kings Valltineya Charrita Queen At Forvanna

1st Longhis Fernandezs & Francesscatos Valaller Paparazzi 2 years very nice fem wedged shaped head correct bite dark eye good ear set would just prefer her a little longer in body . Level top line well marked and nice temperament. Moved the best in the class.

2nd Prices Valltineya Galadriel Nice bitch of good quality would prefer a darker eye correct bite and good ear set very nice head shape .Level top line and good under line ex full tail moved well.

3rd McGregor & Griffins Valltineya Believe In Me Over Chogoris

2nd Kings Valltineya Charita Queen At Forvana Nice head shape med eye nice ear set and good body shape would prefer more bone and better front. Well marked throughout. Moved ok

1st Linneys Aescwine Ampelography I absolutely loved her when she entered the ring such a typical example of what a vallhund bitch should look like fits the standard perfectly for me everything is correct about her. She gave me goosebumps. 4 years old and now for me looking her best. Nothing more to say about her. This was my strongest class of the day. I was absolutely thrilled to award her the CC (I was told later it was her 2 CC) I was very happy to award her BIS

1st Zbilut 7 Yacomens Ch Ohanaway Shes A Rebel 4 years feminine head and dark eye very nive expression good ear set and correct bite would prefer her a little longer in leg very good tail set and balanced body ex harness markings moved and handled so well in fir condition.

2nd Warrens Ch Valaller In Focus Another very nice bitch a lot to like about her 3 years feminine head of correct shape lovely balanced body shape ex top line and ex full tail set in nice coat and condition nicely marked. Moved soundly could have been better handled but was deserving of her place.

3rd Hislops Ch Tanellis Colina
